Epson CW-C6500 Label Media

The Epson ColorWorks C6500 is an 8-inch color label printer that offers an upgrade from black-and-white thermal transfer printers. This printer produces crisp images at up to 1200 dpi resolution and can produce labels as fast as 5" per second. With compatibility with ZPL II, SAP®, and more, this machine has the capability to meet your needs no matter what industry you are in.

The internal label roll holder in the Epson CW-C6500 can handle label rolls up to 6" in diameter on a 3" core. We also have an optional Powered Unwinder which can hold label rolls up to 10” OD.

The Epson CW-C6500 comes in two models, one with an auto cutter (C6500A) and the other with a peeler (C6500P). In addition, the CW-C6500 can be configured with either matte or gloss inks.

The ink type plays a large role in label selection. For example, customers with the matte version must use matte media whereas customers with the gloss version should use glossy media.

We have a large selection of labels for matte and gloss Epson CW-C6500 color label printers including pre-diecut labels and continuous labels (for use with the Epson CW-C6500P or a standalone cutter).

Epson CW-C6500 Matte Media:

• Matte paper C6500 labels — Bright white paper labels with a matte finish.
• Matte polypropylene BOPP C6500 labels — Made from polypropylene film, these labels offer outstanding durability and resistance to scratches, water, and oils.
• GHS BS5609 Chemical C6500 labels — These labels are BS5609 certified specifically for use with the Epson ColorWorks C6500 color label printer with matte inks.
• Matte C6500 tags — These tags are the same as the matte paper labels, but without adhesive.

Epson CW-C6500 Gloss Media:

• High gloss paper C6500 labels — These bright white paper labels have a high gloss finish.
• Glossy polypropylene C6500 labels — These synthetic film labels offer extra durability and resistance to water, scratches, and oils.
• High gloss C6500 tags — These tags are the same as our high gloss paper labels, but they do not have an adhesive.
• Polyester C6500 labels — Strong polyester labels offer outstanding durability and are available in metallic colors.
• Clear C6500 labels — Clear polyester labels with a transparent adhesive for a unique look and extra durability.
• Holographic C6500 labels — Labels with a holographic appearance, great for quality assurance seals.

All the above matte media can also be printed with the gloss inks. The only real difference is that for the GHS BS5609-compliant labels, the matte inks will produce a more durable label that will be more resistance to alcohol. The matte inks on matte paper will generally produce more durable chemical labels, where durability and scanabilty of the black barcode is very important.

Powered Unwinders and Media Spindles

Epson C6500 label printers use label rolls with an outside diameter of up to 6 inches (OD) and can print labels up to 8 inches wide. External unwinders are available, allowing users to feed larger 10" OD rolls of labels from the rear.

In addition, the CW-C6500 uses convenient media spindles, which hold the label roll and can be easily swapped. For customers who frequently switch label rolls, we recommend ordering extra media spindles to make changing rolls a simple matter of loading and unloading the spindles.
